About Greater NOVA

Welcome to the Greater Northern Virgina (GRNOVA) Chapter of Norfolk State University Alumni Association!  Our purpose is to support students with guidance, scholarship, and encouragement.  Your support helps us to uplift our up-and-coming young students matriculating through their majors at our elite Norfolk State University (NSU).
With your membership and support to GRNOVA, we are able to:
  • Assist the University through financial gifts.  
  • Assist the University in recruitment and retention of students, aided by the awarding of scholarships to deserving and needy students.
  • Communicate with alumni and friends in support of the University.
If you are a Northern Virginia NSU Alumna, we would like to extend an invitation of membership to you today. 
VOLUNTEER – We have several great committees and we would love for our alumni to join us.  Contact us to get on our distribution list and join our virtual meetings held the 4th Thursday of each month. 
It is through our strong, passionate and committed members that we are able to have the greatest impact on our mission of supporting students.

The Greater Northern Virginia Spartans Foundation, Inc. was established to provide educational support in the form of scholarships and other types of financial assistance to high school students who are either interested and/or plan to attend college, undergraduate and graduate college students matriculating at Norfolk State University, as well as to support other charitable activities within the local community.
